Course Description

The Algebra 2 course is intense and rich in information. After a short review of the main ideas discussed in the Algebra 1 course, we will introduce and explore more functions, go deeper into the content, and master the skills needed to continue with higher levels of math.

Beginning with Polynomials, proofs of some of their properties, we will move to:

  • Rational and irrational expressions, functions, equations, and inequalities
  • Exponential and logarithmic functions
  • Proofs of the properties of logarithms
  • Exponential growth and decay problems

We will also cover:

  • Systems of linear and non-linear equations and inequalities
  • Word problems leading to systems of equations and inequalities
  • Elements of linear programming

In addition, the course includes:

  • Conic sections and derivation of their equations
  • Introduction to trigonometry of an acute angle
  • Expansion of Sin, Cos, Tan definitions for other angles
  • Sequences and series
