I’ve been teaching for the past 20 years at both the school and college levels throughout Europe, Asia and North America. My primary subjects for instruction are History (European History, US History, and Global History), political science, and Academic Writing. As an elective I’ve organised and led book clubs for students. In all of my classes, I create a warm and inclusive environment where children build their confidence, and develop critical thinking—all through engaging in-class activities.
My formal education is in the field of History (PhD at Moscow State University) and International Relations (MA at the Central European University (Prague-Budapest).
While raising multi-lingual daughters, I took advantage of our work-related travel around the world and made sure to expose them to a multitude of cultures and languages. Whether exploring Mycenae archeological site, trailing the eco-farms in South-East Asia, admiring the masterpieces in the European museums, listening to world classics in Metropolitan Opera, or building self-reliance while trotting mountains or rafting down the rivers, all that contributes to my holistic approach to education. I believe that learning should be rooted in deep academic knowledge and enriched by real-world experience. This global perspective defines my teaching style, as I encourage students to see connections across time, place, and discipline. My goal is to inspire curiosity, foster analytical thinking, and broaden the perspective in the subjects of humanities taught at school. I bring the same passion to the classroom that I bring to parenting, travel, and lifelong learning. I believe that engaging young minds through history, art and literature is the best way to expand their horizons and help them develop their full potential, regardless of what field they eventually enter.
